The anachronisms of Walker (1987)

You know when a movie is so bad, it's actually entertaining?  Well, I just watched such a film.  1987's Walker, starring Ed Harris, is about William Walker's 1855 invasion and takeover of Nicaragua.  The purpose of the film was to shed light on Reagan's support of the Contras in the 1980s.  Daniel Ortega invited the crew to Granada and the film was shot there.  The movie is filled with out-of-place props, like...

...this Mercedes W116, which may represent the Mercedes exiled dictator Somoza (whom Ortega overthrew) died in when an RPG hit it in Paraguay...

...or this Soviet helicopter (Mi-24?), which was supposed to be an American helicopter evacuating citizens.  I can only imagine that it belonged to Ortega's Soviet-friendly armed forces.
