Eating the Globe: The Netherlands

Stroopwafel! There's a local food stand that just sells these sweets, but it's never open. Now, it appears that it's shut down forever.

I had kind of given up on stroopwafels but my wife bought a tin of them from Trader Joe's today, not knowing that they were on my list.

It's sweet and dense. End of review.

These things can sometimes become dry and hard.
My recommendation: place it on top of a fresh cup of coffee (preferably dark, strong, no sugar), leave it for some minutes, then enjoy your coffee+softened biscuit.
(The Netherlands is rather a coffee-drinking country)
Some people suggest the shape and dimension of stroopwaffels are devised for covering a coffee mug.
